Techn. Inf. - Embedded Hardware/Software Systems

Lectures and courses of the Department

The lectures and courses supplied by the Department focus on embedded systems as well as on developing methods and tools for these systems. They consist of modules as well as project groups / individual projects, seminars, individual works and dissertations. The obligatory modules Technical Informatics I and Technical Informatics II, being offered in the 1st and 2nd semester/term, impart basic knowledge.

The modules Embedded Systems I and Embedded Systems II deal with the characteristics of embedded systems as well as with architecture, design methods and design tools for embedded HW/SW-systems. These modules are designated as obligatory modules for the concentrated studies of Embedded Systems in the 3nd/4rd semester. They can be taken as optional modules or field modules for students of applicational studies.

Further, sporadically offered modules give deeper attention to some of the branches of embedded systems, such as the modules Design of Integrated Circuits and Design of Low Power Dissipation Circuits.

This framework of individual works, project groups, seminars and dissertations provides the opportunity, either in a group or individually, to concentrate on complex, concluded topics in the field of Embedded HW/SW-Systems that reflect the research activities of the Department. In general the students will be dealing with the design of an embedded system or with the design and implementation of a design tool.
